You now have the option to shop 24 hours a day right in your home. QVC, Home Shopping Network (HSN) and others showcase thousands of pieces of jewelry every day. If you like the convenience of cable shopping, you should be aware that the jewelry sold on these channels are typically mass-produced by poorly paid laborers in countries like Korea, Thailand, China, Mexico, etc.

The quality, while on a par with warehouse or department store offerings, does not compare to the quality and craftsmanship of fine jewelry. Don't be misled by inflated retail values that tout incredible savings. Again, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. So, buy what you like and have fun; but don't think that you are buying a keepsake that will last for generations.
