APPRAISALS
Established in 1931,
the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the world's
largest and most respected nonprofit institute of gemological
research and learning. GIA graduates receive extensive training
in gemological knowledge and identification techniques to
ensure the public trust in gems and jewelry.
As a graduate of the
Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and after 30 years
in all phases of the jewelry industry, Glen Moscoe has the
knowledge and experience to provide you with critical information
about the origin/history, current market value and long-term
worth of your jewelry.
We offer a number of
different appraisal services, including:
- Free Written
Appraisals of All Significant Purchases - We
will gladly provide you with a free written appraisal of
any purchase made in our store. This appraisal confirms
that the quality and components of the piece are exactly
as represented as well as its current retail value.
- Free Verbal Opinions
- to determine the type of appraisal you may
need, the merits of your piece and the intrinsic value of
the item. We invite you to bring in any and all of your
jewelry, even costume jewelry, for a fast and easy way to
organize and valuate your collection.
- Replacement Value
- a written appraisal that determines the replacement
value of the piece and allows you to obtain adequate insurance
coverage.
- Fair Market Value
- a written appraisal that provides you with
the value of your piece in its current condition. This type
of appraisal is typically required for estate valuation
purposes.
- Cash Liquidation
Value - this provides you with information about
the cash value based on the components of the piece. This
type of appraisal is used for divorce, bankruptcy or for
general information, and often when you are contemplating
selling your jewelry to the trade.
